More Good-byes

Finally got our pictures from Nani's despedida karaoke-style. We had so much fun that night at Cher's, I can't remember laughing so much! Here we are fooling around...

And fooling around some more... Blame it on the alcohol. :)

My LA holiday

Yes, I know... I've been back from my LA / Vegas break for a month & a 1/2 and there are more things that have happened in my life that I should write about - but the pictures are too cute not to put up. :)

We stayed at Ahia's super duper nice townhouse in Pasadena and since all I wanted to do was go celebrity sight-seeing and shop, Ahia took me down to Hollywood where my eagle-eyes spotted Jamie-Lynn Di Scala from the Sopranos and a panget Nick Nolte. We hung out at Urth Cafe (where Bennifer 2 like going) and I saw Craig Bierko but sadly, I'm the only one who knows who he is (and what's the fun in that?).

Mama and Papa came to hang out with us too for a week and that was just soooo much fun!! We drove to the Getty Museum which was already nice enough on its own (everything there was made from Carrara marble!!), but it also had a wide collection of paintings and photographs too.

See how many stolen hand-holding shots I took of them! Isn't that the sweetest thing?? I got even more from our Vegas trip. :p The gardens there were really well taken cared of too so being kyepo, I made all of them pose!

Of course we did all the other regular stuff too like, eat Ahia's favorites (Armenian chicken, Hainanese chicken, etc), play mahjongg (everyone won except Ahia :), give our parents labatiba and go crazy outlet shopping. Prizes for who can guess just what Mama is doing to Ahia's poor snake here...

and here... heehee...

My Vegas Holiday

Papa got a little sick while we were in LA when his gall stones acted up, but that wasn't enough to stop us from taking a 4-hour road trip to Las Vegas, the city of sin!!! It's such an amazing strip - just 1 long road of casinos, casinos and more casinos. Each 1 had a theme like New York, Paris, the Pyramids... I thought the Venetian was the most extravagant, you could even ride a gondola inside! We stayed at the Bellagio which was pretty cool - their mini-bar was touch-sensitive - even just moving something was considered sold!

There was a sign to promote the elevator ride up the "Eiffel Tower" - the only place where you can see the ancient ruins of Rome, the Sphinx and the Arc de Triomphe. :)

When you're in Vegas, you do as the Vegas-ites do, so there we were gambling our money away at the slots. Mama was the champion - she won $200 which of course, she promptly lost. :)

Eventually, the 50cent slots weren't exciting enough so Mama looked for bigger slots to fry...

We even watched a Cirque de Soleil show. And just my luck, out of the 4 shows they had, I went and picked the one that was For Adults Only, if you know what I mean. The whole show was about male, female and GAY sexual fantasies!! Which would have been fine if you weren't watching with YOUR PARENTS!

A transexual even approached my dad and tried to jiggle his ass in front of him. Note my dad's un-amused reaction and the not-so-obvious way he's trying to ignore him. Heehee...

More sweet pics of Mom and Dad eating gelato...

and holding hands. Aw...

"Working" in Mexico

The 3 meeting days whizzed by pretty fast - we were always cramped in that little room and there was always too much info to absorb. Below is proof that we weren't always downing tequila shots and having fun.

This is the requisite group shot, taken right before we left for our last nights' activity - watching the pre-World Cup qualifying match between Mexico and Costa Rica! Now THAT was super fun - the game itself was ok, but the energy in Aztec stadium, the 2nd biggest in the world, was amazing!! Especially when Mexico scored 2 goals to none. I learned new Mexican words that day... "puto!" and "iho de puta!" Never mind that I didn't have a clue what was going on. :)
