Girl Friends

Since breaking up with Dean, life's been much lonelier in Singapore. And occasions like Valentine's don't really help banish the cloud hanging over my head. But one thing that's great about being single is connecting again with girl friends, who no matter what happens, remain a comforting constant.

Going back to Manila last week, I had wine-and-dinner night with D - just the 2 of us! How sad is that! :) At the end of the day, without all the boys (friends and otherwise) - it boils down to us 2. It was so great to touch base again, to laugh over our recent debacles (Egoy - ew!) and to reminisce about olden times. And it never hurts to get a free dinner from one of her million admirers!

Today, I had the most fun in Singapore than I can remember having in the longest time. It was so simple... bruschetta, tea and gossip at my apartment with Daphne and Giang. Funny how I always thought that my good friends in Sing would also be Filipino. And they turn out to be Singaporean and Vietnamese. Tomorrow, we're doing hot yoga. I'm so excited.

I've read emails that are a lot more eloquent at talking about the joys of having girl friends so I won't even try to beat that. I'm just thankful to come across these great women who inspire me, lift me up, cheer me, support me, side with me, tell me I'm wrong, love me and remain friends with me - no matter what. Thanks, you guys - you know who you are. :)
