Funky Christmas

Christmas is meant to be a time spent with loved ones, which of course, means family and friends. But Christmas this year is a little funky for a couple of reasons - it's my 1st one without Dean and might be my last with Yotch. :p

Even my friendships have changed a little... the annual "Christmas Ice Cream at the Pen" is in danger - I've denounced my male college friends so pretty soon, my circle of close friends will be down to a 2-dotted line - me and D. Sigh... And even that might change once she gets a boyfriend (which is becoming more and more likely).

I'll be a solitary dot . in a sea of words.

I know, I know. I'm being whiny. It was just strange to be going thru the Christmas traditions this year with so much change. I felt a little off-balance, almost as if I was searching for what was missing or what I would miss. Not so great to be going thru this over what is supposed to be the happiest time of the year.

Funky thing is, when everything goes wrong or slightly awry, you do go back to basics - family and friends. And that's what happened...

And while I may not have seen the friends I thought were friends, I did re-connect back with the girls from High School and my old P&G buddies. In spite of everything, I did meet everyone who mattered this Christmas.

I may be a dot but I don't think I'll ever be solitary. Funky, funky Christmas.
